A pair of timber and glass lanterns under distressed white roofs, one tall, one smaller.

Richard is a set of two lanterns, a tall one at 68.5 cm and a smaller one at 51.5 cm, each a fir timber frame with window-pane glass panels and a hinged door that latches with an antique brass clasp. A distressed white metal roof sits on top, pierced with a row of vent holes and finished with a ring finial. Candles not included.

The two heights sit well together by a door, a hearth or along a console, and the worn white roofs read soft against the light timber. Open the door to set a pillar candle inside, then close it so the flame glows through the glass. The pair works indoors or in a sheltered outdoor spot.

Care & Keeping

Dust the timber with a soft dry cloth and wipe the glass clear. Keep them dry and out of direct weather, the timber and painted roof can mark if left damp. Open the door to place or trim the candle, and never leave a burning candle unattended.

Because Richard is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and tone are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
