Alexandrine French Provincial Round Trays, Set of 3, Whitewashed Bamboo and Wood, Floral Metal Band

Alexandrine is a set of three round trays in graduated sizes. The frame is whitewashed bamboo and fir wood, the side set with a pierced floral metal band painted white, the flower centres catching a little gold. Each tray has two rope-wrapped handles for carrying.

The largest is about 38.5 cm across the handles, the middle 35 cm, the smallest 30.5 cm, each with a 7 cm side. Carry tea and breakfast through to the lounge, hold a candle and dried stems on a coffee table, or gather odds and ends on a console. They nest down into one another for storage.

How to style it

A few ways to bring Alexandrine into the room.

• Set a candle and a few stems on the largest tray, with a pillar from candle holders.
• Carry the middle tray to the lounge with tea, then leave it out on the ottoman.
• Keep the small tray on a console below a mirror for keys and post.
• Group with other pieces from trays and bowls for a layered table.

Care & Keeping

Dust gently with a soft dry cloth, into the pierced band. Wipe the wood with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight after, rather than soaking it. Keep indoors and out of damp and direct sun, as the wood and painted band are not made for weather.

Because Alexandrine is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture and grain are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
