A trophy cup for a fern, footed and handled and speckled like he wintered in a glasshouse.
Gino is an urn planter in aged white iron, his trumpet cup rising from a turned pedestal foot with scrolled acanthus handles at each side. A fleur relief medallion sits front and centre, and the finish is speckled through with warm flecks so he reads found rather than new.
At 48cm tall he lifts a fern, dried stems, or a trailing plant to where the room can see them, on a hearth, an entry table, or a pedestal like our Cadiz.
Why we love it
- ◆The handles, scrolled acanthus curls that lift the silhouette into trophy territory
- ◆The medallion, a fleur crest in relief on the face of the cup
- ◆The footed silhouette, goblet lines that give a plant the presence of a centrepiece
- ◆The speckled white, aged flecks worked through the finish, no two urns alike

How to style it
Gino makes ordinary greenery look inherited.
- Sit a fern in him and let the fronds spill over the handles
- Stand him on our Cadiz pedestal for a full chateau column of green
- Gather him with Enzo and Fiora from our planters collection at staggered heights
- Dress a sheltered porch with pieces from our garden collection
Stylist's TipLet whatever he holds spill; a fern or trailing ivy over the rim softens the iron and doubles his presence on the table.
Care & Keeping
Sit plants inside him in their nursery pots rather than planting directly, which protects the finish and makes seasonal swaps easy. Dust with a soft dry cloth and keep him under cover outdoors so the speckling ages as intended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can he go outdoors?
He suits a covered porch or sheltered courtyard. Direct rain will hurry the ageing of the finish, which some homes love and others do not, so under cover is the safe choice.
How should I plant him?
Keep plants in their nursery pots and sit them inside the cup. Watering stays tidy, the finish stays protected, and you can swap the greenery with the seasons.
Is he metal?
Yes, the cup, handles, and foot are iron beneath the aged white finish.
Are the brown flecks damage?
No, the speckling is part of the applied hand finish, giving him the look of an urn that has seen a few good decades.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close. The speckling is worked by hand, so the pattern of flecks varies from urn to urn, which is part of the intended character.
Because Gino is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
