A pair of flamingos cast in antique gold metal, heads bowed in conversation, tails feathered out behind them.
The Plumier Pair is a set of two flamingo floor sculptures finished in a soft antique gold patina with darker silver-grey rubbed into the recesses. Each bird is built up from individually cut and shaped metal feathers, layered like real plumage across the body, wings and tail. The graceful S-curve of the necks brings them together as a courting pair.
One bird stands taller (86 cm), the other slightly shorter (76.5 cm), so they read naturally as a couple rather than a matching pair of bookends. They balance on twisted iron legs set into oval bases, free-standing and ready to display straight out of the box. Use them either side of a sideboard, in a bay window, beside a fireplace, or as a focal point in an entryway.

How to style them
- ◆ Display together as a pair, with the smaller bird slightly forward to read the height difference
- ◆ Place either side of a sideboard, fireplace, or in a bay window for a symmetrical statement

- ◆ Layer with pampas grass, dried palm or olive branches in tall vases nearby for height and texture
Stylist's Tip
The pair looks most romantic when their heads are angled toward each other rather than facing the same way. Position the larger bird slightly behind the smaller, with both heads turning inward, to recreate the courting pose from the photographs. The negative space between the two heads is part of the composition.
Care & Keeping
Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth or feather duster. The cut metal feathers have small edges, so avoid pressing hard or using rough cloths that could catch. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, polishes and abrasives, which will strip the antique gold patina. If displaying outdoors, expect the finish to develop a softer natural patina over time, which is part of the aged character of these pieces.

Yes. The Plumier Pair is a set of two sculptures sold together, one larger (86 cm) and one smaller (76.5 cm). Both are included for the listed price.
Can they be used outdoors?
Yes. They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor display. Like all decorative metal pieces, the antique gold finish will continue to develop a soft natural patina over time when exposed to weather, which adds to the aged character.
Are they free-standing or do they need fixing?
They are free-standing. Each bird is balanced on twisted iron legs set into a flat oval base. No screws, anchors or fixings required. Place straight onto a level floor or surface.
How are they packaged for delivery?
Each bird is individually boxed in its own protective carton with foam padding around the cut metal feathers and slim legs. Both birds are dispatched together. Combined gross weight 6 kg.
Will every pair look identical to the photos?
Each piece is hand-finished, so the patina, gold-to-grey shadowing and feather alignment will vary slightly between birds. These differences are characteristic of the hand finish and are not faults.

It was my testing the waters first purchase to check out this new store & what’s on offer. I loved the idea of supplying cast iron cute animal figurines as they’re practical, good looking, solid durable material, great rust finish (no need to buy expensive rust effect paint). Just ready to weather and brings a smile on your dial. I placed my frog with his hands up as if in religious praying gesture next to the concrete funny sign scored at Vinnies reading: grant me patience Lord but hurry - I believe the praying frog and the sign go comically together. I’m thinking of getting the other frog too in its hilarious pose possibly in green patina for contrast. I can confirm it’s heavy cast iron with attractive rust patina. These casts fill the gap in the market dominated by laser cut cortina steel offerings. Just something old school different and complimentary to your garden /house decor. Pleased it’s introduced to Australian market and once for change not made in China… but in France known for its cast iron tradition. We own 18th century French anvil won at an antique auction which is our proud possession so happy to score more in heavy casts.

This may not show on the store website that well but they’re actually old gold colour. It’s lightweight thin metal so perhaps inside or sheltered outdoor space would suit them the best as it may rust out & some fragile parts of the tail break exposed to the weather. They’re as large as described, cleverly designed for packaging - legs are separate with tightening screw. They make an impact due to their size & fit almost any decor with the colour & style.
