A pair of flamingos cast in antique gold metal, heads bowed in conversation, tails feathered out behind them.
The Plumier Pair is a set of two flamingo floor sculptures finished in a soft antique gold patina with darker silver-grey rubbed into the recesses. Each bird is built up from individually cut and shaped metal feathers, layered like real plumage across the body, wings and tail. The graceful S-curve of the necks brings them together as a courting pair.
One bird stands taller (86 cm), the other slightly shorter (76.5 cm), so they read naturally as a couple rather than a matching pair of bookends. They balance on twisted iron legs set into oval bases, free-standing and ready to display straight out of the box. Use them either side of a sideboard, in a bay window, beside a fireplace, or as a focal point in an entryway.

The pair looks most romantic when their heads are angled toward each other rather than facing the same way. Position the larger bird slightly behind the smaller, with both heads turning inward, to recreate the courting pose from the photographs. The negative space between the two heads is part of the composition.
Care & Keeping
Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth or feather duster. The cut metal feathers have small edges, so avoid pressing hard or using rough cloths that could catch. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, polishes and abrasives, which will strip the antique gold patina. If displaying outdoors, expect the finish to develop a softer natural patina over time, which is part of the aged character of these pieces.
