An arched metal stand with a swinging cradle that holds a single candle at its centre.
Julien is a standing candle holder built as a tall arched frame in aged metal, topped with a fleur-de-lis finial above a small leaf collar. A round dish hangs from a hook inside the arch on its own swinging cradle, so the candle sits suspended at the centre of the frame rather than flat on the table. The finish is a warm aged gold, worn back over the high points to a darker base.
It stands 58 cm tall on a round base about 20 cm across, tall enough to read as a centrepiece on a dining table or sideboard. Set a pillar candle on the inner dish, or drop a glass tealight cup onto it for the same glow with the flame enclosed. Candle not included.
| Height | 58 cm |
| Width | 20 cm (base) |
| Depth | 20 cm |
| Weight | 0.65 kg (net) |
| Materials | Aged metal |
| Finish | Aged gold over a darker base |
| Style | French Provincial · French country · cottage |
| Suitable for | Indoor use, pillar candle or glass tealight (not included) |
A few ways to place it.
Stylist's Tip A short ivory pillar sits best on the inner dish without crowding the arch. For a table left lit late, use a flameless LED pillar so you can leave it unattended.
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth. Keep it indoors or somewhere fully sheltered, the aged finish is decorative and is not made for weather. Use a candle plate or a glass cup on the inner dish to catch wax, and let any drips cool before lifting them off.
It is made for indoor or fully covered use. The aged finish is decorative and will mark if left out in rain or direct weather.
It sits with French provincial, French country, and cottage interiors, and the fleur-de-lis reads at home on a candlelit table or a sideboard.
It stands 58 cm tall on a round base about 20 cm across, roughly the height of a tall table lamp, so it works as a standalone centrepiece.
A pillar candle sits on the inner dish, or a glass tealight cup can rest on it for an enclosed flame. The dish hangs on a hook and swings a little, so keep the candle modest in size. The candle is not included.
The round base ring keeps the frame steady on a flat surface, while the inner cradle swings freely. Because it is hand-finished, slight differences in patina between pieces are normal.
Because Julien is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and the gold wear are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.

Odette French Provincial Swan Planter, Whitewashed Magnesia Garden Decor 43cm
Fits in beautifully with the fairy garden vibe I'm creating fir my great grandchildren.
Lady Ophelia French Provincial Fairy Statue, Natural Rust Cast Iron 30cm
It was my testing the waters first purchase to check out this new store & what’s on offer. I loved the idea of supplying cast iron cute animal figurines as they’re practical, good looking, solid durable material, great rust finish (no need to buy expensive rust effect paint). Just ready to weather and brings a smile on your dial. I placed my frog with his hands up as if in religious praying gesture next to the concrete funny sign scored at Vinnies reading: grant me patience Lord but hurry - I believe the praying frog and the sign go comically together. I’m thinking of getting the other frog too in its hilarious pose possibly in green patina for contrast. I can confirm it’s heavy cast iron with attractive rust patina. These casts fill the gap in the market dominated by laser cut cortina steel offerings. Just something old school different and complimentary to your garden /house decor. Pleased it’s introduced to Australian market and once for change not made in China… but in France known for its cast iron tradition. We own 18th century French anvil won at an antique auction which is our proud possession so happy to score more in heavy casts.
The Frog Prince French Provincial Frog Statue, Natural Rust Cast Iron 30cm
I got this little figurine as a freebie & it’s pretty cute. Heavy cast metal nice detail to it. He would look great in larger sizes too I think.
Mr Capone French Provincial Terrier Statue in a Bowler Hat, Natural Rust Cast Iron 14.5cm
This may not show on the store website that well but they’re actually old gold colour. It’s lightweight thin metal so perhaps inside or sheltered outdoor space would suit them the best as it may rust out & some fragile parts of the tail break exposed to the weather. They’re as large as described, cleverly designed for packaging - legs are separate with tightening screw. They make an impact due to their size & fit almost any decor with the colour & style.

Guido French Provincial Fleur de Lis Urn Vase, Aged Bronze Finish 43.5cm
I bought this piece as I could see it in my mind's eye having an suspended impact with my high end Brazilian quartz crystal display. Such a well made piece, sturdy and if I didn't know better, from another time. I am planning a candle holder from Chateau Living to complete this display, just having trouble deciding from the elegant range they have available. Very pleased :) Who would have thought you could combine Brazil with French Provincial so perfectly.

It’s beautiful the only things I thought disappointing Were .. it’s a bit smaller than indicated by 3 cms across the bowl And it’s pretty much all grey not a rustic patchy colour It’s still beautiful
The Willowmere Grey French Provincial Pedestal Bird Feeder, Weathered Grey Cast Iron 58cm
Store owner replied: Thank you so much for the honest review and the photo, Lynne, and I'm so glad you still find her beautiful. The 30cm is measured across the dish including the little bird perched on the rim, so the bowl itself is a few centimetres smaller. We'll make that clearer on the listing. The grey version has a weathered stone finish, chalky on the raised edges and darker in the recesses, so it reads as mostly grey. If you ever fall for the patchier rustic look, the Willowmere also comes in a natural rust finish. Lucie
