A tall trumpet urn in chalk white, worn back to the gilt beneath the way an old gilded piece softens with age.
Anaïs is a trumpet urn planter, the tall bell-flared shape of a French gilded urn. It is cast magnesia composite with a beaded rim, a draped lambrequin band below the bell, a gadrooned lower bowl and an acanthus collar on the stem, all on a stepped square plinth. The finish is an antique white worn back to a warm gilt-toned undertone, chipped and rubbed so the gold shows through like an old painted-and-gilded piece.
It stands 50.5 cm tall and has real weight to it, so it holds a spot indoors or out. The open bell takes a generous arrangement of branches or stems, or it can stand empty as a sculptural urn. Set it on the floor by a doorway, or raise it on a console or plinth. The branches shown are for styling and are not included.

How to style it
A few ways to use it:
- Fill the bell with tall branches or pampas for height on the floor, the way it is styled here
- Plant a topiary or trailing greenery with a liner and stand it among your other planters
- Set a pair either side of a door or mantel for a formal, balanced look
- Group it in a garden and outdoor corner with weathered timber and aged metal
Stylist's Tip The gilt undertone catches the light, so place Anaïs where a lamp or window can pick it up. Keep planting loose and tall to echo the open bell.
Care & Keeping
The cast magnesia finish suits indoors, a covered spot or the open garden, and the worn white and gilt will mellow further outside over time. Keep it out of waterlogged soil and standing water, and bring it under cover in frost. A clear outdoor sealer once a year will help the finish last longer. Use a liner or a separate pot when planting so moisture does not sit against the inside.

Can I use it outdoors?
Yes, in the open garden, on a porch or on a patio. The magnesia composite is made for outdoor use, and the white and gilt finish will weather gently over time. Avoid waterlogging, and bring it under cover in frost.
Does it have a drainage hole?
It comes without a drainage hole, so it works best with a liner or a nursery pot dropped inside. A hole can be drilled if you want to plant directly, with gravel underneath for drainage.
Is the gold real?
No. The gilt-toned colour is a finish worn back beneath the white, not a precious metal. It gives the look of an old painted-and-gilded urn.
What style of decor does it suit?

How big is it?

It was my testing the waters first purchase to check out this new store & what’s on offer. I loved the idea of supplying cast iron cute animal figurines as they’re practical, good looking, solid durable material, great rust finish (no need to buy expensive rust effect paint). Just ready to weather and brings a smile on your dial. I placed my frog with his hands up as if in religious praying gesture next to the concrete funny sign scored at Vinnies reading: grant me patience Lord but hurry - I believe the praying frog and the sign go comically together. I’m thinking of getting the other frog too in its hilarious pose possibly in green patina for contrast. I can confirm it’s heavy cast iron with attractive rust patina. These casts fill the gap in the market dominated by laser cut cortina steel offerings. Just something old school different and complimentary to your garden /house decor. Pleased it’s introduced to Australian market and once for change not made in China… but in France known for its cast iron tradition. We own 18th century French anvil won at an antique auction which is our proud possession so happy to score more in heavy casts.

This may not show on the store website that well but they’re actually old gold colour. It’s lightweight thin metal so perhaps inside or sheltered outdoor space would suit them the best as it may rust out & some fragile parts of the tail break exposed to the weather. They’re as large as described, cleverly designed for packaging - legs are separate with tightening screw. They make an impact due to their size & fit almost any decor with the colour & style.
