Miss Angelique French Provincial Fairy Statue, Rust Cast Iron 21.5cm

Miss Angelique is a seated fairy cast in solid iron and finished in a natural rust patina, large butterfly wings open behind her and long wavy hair over one shoulder, sitting on top of a sphere moulded all over with open daisies. One leg hangs straight down the front of the ball and her face is tilted upward. She weighs 2 kg, which is the difference between cast iron and the resin figures that copy this shape. Every petal on the sphere is worked, and the wings carry their veining right through.

At 21.5cm she is a small piece, easily lifted in one hand and best placed where people pass close enough to see the flowers. She is built for outdoor life: the iron is heavy for her size, and the rust patina is a finish rather than a fault, so weather deepens her instead of wearing her out.

Care & Keeping

Wipe with a soft dry cloth to lift dust out of the wing veining and between the daisy petals. The rust patina is a finished surface and needs no sealing. Place a felt pad or a saucer underneath on pale stone or painted timber, and keep harsh chemical cleaners and abrasive pads away from her.

Because Miss Angelique is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
