A dragonfly with a chalky white body and wings of woven jute, caught mid-flight across the wall.
Lilly is a dragonfly wall piece with a body in aged white metal, chipped back in places to a darker base, and four wings of woven jute stretched over a wire frame. Each wing is edged in twisted hemp rope, and the weave is open enough to let the wall colour show through.
The wingspan is about 58 cm, so it holds a wall on its own, or group two or three in a loose flight up a stairwell or across a bedroom wall. It is very light and hangs from a single hook. It pairs with the smaller dragonfly, sold separately.

How to style it
A few ways to hang it.
- Hang one over a bed, a console or a doorway, with more pieces in wall decor
- Group two or three in a loose flight and mix in the smaller dragonfly, sold separately
- Build it into a gallery wall with mirrors and framed prints
- Set it against a coloured or textured wall so the open jute wings read clearly
Stylist's Tip Hang dragonflies in odd numbers and turn each one at a slightly different angle, as if they are mid-flight, rather than lining them up level.
Care & Keeping
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth or a soft brush, working with the weave on the jute wings rather than against it. Keep it indoors and out of damp, since the jute and the painted finish are not made for weather.

Can I hang it outside?
It is made for indoors. The wings are woven jute and the body is painted, so rain and damp will spoil them. A fully covered, dry spot is the most it should see.
How do I hang it?
It hangs on a single hook or nail. It weighs well under a kilo, so almost any picture hook or small wall plug suited to your wall will hold it.
How big is it?
The wingspan is about 58 cm and it is around 51.5 cm from head to tail, so a fair-sized statement rather than a small accent. It sits about 6 cm off the wall.
What style of decor does it suit?
French Provincial, French country, coastal and farmhouse looks. The white finish and natural jute sit well with linen, timber and other soft, aged finishes.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Close, with small differences. Each one is hand-finished, so the chipped white paint and the weave of the jute fall a little differently from piece to piece. That is part of the character.
Because Lilly is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture and grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.

It was my testing the waters first purchase to check out this new store & what’s on offer. I loved the idea of supplying cast iron cute animal figurines as they’re practical, good looking, solid durable material, great rust finish (no need to buy expensive rust effect paint). Just ready to weather and brings a smile on your dial. I placed my frog with his hands up as if in religious praying gesture next to the concrete funny sign scored at Vinnies reading: grant me patience Lord but hurry - I believe the praying frog and the sign go comically together. I’m thinking of getting the other frog too in its hilarious pose possibly in green patina for contrast. I can confirm it’s heavy cast iron with attractive rust patina. These casts fill the gap in the market dominated by laser cut cortina steel offerings. Just something old school different and complimentary to your garden /house decor. Pleased it’s introduced to Australian market and once for change not made in China… but in France known for its cast iron tradition. We own 18th century French anvil won at an antique auction which is our proud possession so happy to score more in heavy casts.

This may not show on the store website that well but they’re actually old gold colour. It’s lightweight thin metal so perhaps inside or sheltered outdoor space would suit them the best as it may rust out & some fragile parts of the tail break exposed to the weather. They’re as large as described, cleverly designed for packaging - legs are separate with tightening screw. They make an impact due to their size & fit almost any decor with the colour & style.
