On The Water
Clear glass around the flame, a weathered grid around the glass, scaled down to sit anywhere.
Lyam is the smaller hurricane lantern in this design, a clear glass sleeve set inside a welded wire grid. The frame and cap are built from aged metal in a weathered grey finish, chalky and softly worn, with a pierced band below the domed top, a teardrop finial and a ring handle. A clear glass sleeve holds the candle, and the grid lays a soft shadow over the glow.
At 44 cm it is the more compact of the two sizes, easy to place on a shelf, a side table or a windowsill. Stand it on its own, or beside the taller Elliott at 49 cm for a graduated pair. The clear glass keeps the flame steady, so it carries to a sheltered verandah on a still night.

How to style it
It earns its place anywhere a soft, low light belongs.
- Pair it with the taller Elliott and the rest of our lanterns for graduated heights.
- Cluster it with other candle holders down a table for a relaxed tablescape.
- Set it on a shelf or hall console beside a mirror to spread the glow.
- Carry it out to a covered patio, alongside our garden and outdoor pieces.
Stylist's Tip Use a cream or ivory pillar candle rather than bright white. The warm wax tone reads beautifully against the grey grid and clear glass, and a flameless LED gives the same glow with none of the soot.
Care & Keeping
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth, and lift out the glass sleeve to wash it clear of soot now and then. Keep the metal dry; the weathered grey finish is chalky by design, so wipe rather than scrub. Indoors or under cover outdoors is best, since steady damp will mark the finish over time.

Can I use Lyam outside?
Indoors is its natural home, but it is fine on a covered verandah or patio out of direct rain and wind. Bring it in over wet spells so the weathered grey finish stays as it is.
What style of room does it suit?
French Provincial, French country and cottage rooms first. The grey grid and clear glass also suit farmhouse, coastal and warm modern interiors.
How big is Lyam?
It stands 44 cm tall on a 14.8 cm round base. It is the smaller of two sizes in this design; the taller Elliott is 49 cm.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Close, not identical. Each lantern is hand-finished, so the depth of the weathered grey and the small marks differ a little piece to piece. That is part of the look, not a fault.
Does it make a good gift?
Yes. At a friendly size and price it suits a housewarming or a wedding, and it is ready to use with your own pillar candle or a flameless LED. The candle is not included.
Because Lyam is hand-finished, slight variations in the weathered grey finish are natural and part of the character of each lantern. Colour may also vary slightly between screens; all photography is taken in natural light.
