A little crown-shaped planter in distressed grey metal with pointed tips and ball feet.
Marlene is a small planter shaped like a crown, with tall pointed tips rising around the rim and a band of embossed detail near the base. It is made from light aged metal in a chalky distressed grey, with a soft verdigris in the recesses and three little ball feet underneath.
It is a centrepiece more than a workhorse pot. Drop a cluster of succulents or a small potted plant inside, fill it with faux stems, or use it as a sweet catch-all for a dresser or shelf. The crown shape gives it a bit of whimsy without tipping into kitsch.

How to style it
Marlene is a little centrepiece with a sense of fun. A few ways:
- Drop a cluster of succulents or a small potted plant inside as a cachepot
- Fill it with faux stems, moss or seasonal foliage
- Use it as a catch-all on a dresser for keys, rings or trinkets
- Group it with other planters and urns for a collected tablescape
Stylist's Tip Let the planting sit just below the points so the crown shape still reads. A low mound of succulents or moss looks better here than something tall that hides the tips.
Care & Keeping
Dust with a soft dry cloth. Marlene is very light aged metal, decorative rather than structural, with no drainage hole and not guaranteed watertight, so use it as a cachepot with a potted plant inside or add a liner rather than planting loose wet soil straight in. Keep it indoors or somewhere sheltered, the distressed grey and verdigris will weather further outdoors in the wet.

Is it cast iron?
No, it is light aged metal with a distressed grey and verdigris finish, not cast iron.
Can I plant directly into it?
Best used as a cachepot. Sit a potted plant inside or use a liner. It has no drainage hole and is not guaranteed watertight, so avoid loose wet soil straight in.
How big is it?
Small, about 23cm wide, 20cm deep and 13cm tall to the points. It is a tabletop size.
Can it go outside?
It is happiest indoors or somewhere sheltered. Outdoors in the wet, the finish will weather and patina further over time.
Will mine look like the photos?
Close, not identical. The distressed finish is applied by hand, so the grey and verdigris vary a little from piece to piece.
Because Marlene is hand-finished, slight variations in the distressed grey and verdigris are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
