Doctor Bramble French Provincial Rabbit Statue, Rust Cast Iron 22cm

Dressed for a country wedding and running late for it.

Doctor Bramble is a standing rabbit cast in solid iron and finished in a natural rust patina. He wears a frock coat over a buttoned waistcoat, a watch chain looped across his front and a bow tie set slightly askew, and he stands on a small oval mound with grass worked around his feet. One paw is raised, mid gesture, as though he has just remembered something.

At 22cm he is the small one in the family, easy to place on a step, a windowsill or among the pots. He is cast iron rather than resin, so he holds 1.2 kg and stays where you put him, and the rust patina means he can live outdoors year round.

How to style it

Small pieces work best when they look found rather than placed.

• Tuck him at the base of a pot where the planting half hides him
• Stand him on a garden step so he greets people on the way up
• Put him on a kitchen windowsill or a hall shelf indoors
• Gather him with the rest of our garden sculptures in a loose group of three

Care & Keeping

Wipe with a soft dry cloth to lift dust from the coat and the grass around his feet. The rust patina is a finished surface and needs no sealing. Place a felt pad or a saucer underneath on pale stone or painted timber, and keep harsh chemical cleaners and abrasive pads away from him.

Because Doctor Bramble is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
