Two mesh baskets on a scrolled frame, with a grip handle to carry it by.
Oscar is a two tier basket carrier made of metal, with two round mesh baskets, a smaller one above a larger one, held in a tall wire frame. Scrolled wire supports link the tiers and a grip handle arches over the top, so you can lift the whole thing and move it in one go. The finish is a rustic rust-brown, weathered and uneven across the mesh and the braided rims.
It earns its keep as a carrier, gather produce, eggs, garden cuttings, craft bits, or bathroom odds and ends across the two levels and carry them where you need them. It also makes a lovely two tier planter, sit potted herbs or trailing greenery in each basket, with a liner or a pot to hold soil since the mesh is open. At 60cm tall it has real presence on a bench, a sideboard, or a covered patio.
Why we love it
◆Carry it by the handle, two baskets of storage that lift and move as one.
◆Basket or planter, hold produce and odds and ends, or pot it up with herbs and trailing greenery.
◆Rustic rust-brown mesh, the weathered finish and braided rims read like old garden ironwork.
◆Height with a job, 60cm tall, a piece that earns its spot on a bench or patio.

How to style it
Oscar is open and tall, so let each basket carry one clear thing rather than crowding both.
In a kitchen, fill it with produce, eggs, or fresh herbs and carry it from bench to table.
Pot it up as a two tier planter with herbs or trailing greenery, with a few from our planters set inside to hold soil.
Use it in a bathroom or laundry for rolled towels, soaps, and odds and ends.
Stand it among our garden and outdoor pieces on a covered patio, keeping heavier things in the lower basket.
Stylist's Tip
For a planted look, drop a glass or ceramic pot inside the lower basket and let one trailing plant spill through the mesh. The rust and the green together are what give it that found-in-an-old-garden feel.
Care & Keeping
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth or a soft brush to lift dust from the mesh. The rust-brown finish is part of the look, so handle it as a decorative, weathered piece rather than a sealed one. Keep it indoors or in a covered, sheltered spot, since full exposure to rain will deepen the rust over time. Sit pots, damp items, or anything loose on a liner or in an inner pot, as the base is open mesh. Lift it by the handle rather than the baskets.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it as a planter?
Yes. Sit a glass, ceramic, or plastic pot inside each basket to hold the soil and water, since the mesh is open. Trailing plants look lovely spilling through the weave. For a working planter outdoors, keep it in a covered spot.
Can I carry it when it is full?
It has a grip handle made for lifting and moving it. Keep heavier items in the lower basket and lift by the handle rather than the baskets, and keep loads sensible for a decorative mesh piece.
Can I use it outdoors?
It suits a covered, sheltered spot like a verandah or garden room. Left fully exposed to rain the rust-brown finish will deepen and weather further over time, which some like for a garden look. To keep it as it is, keep it under cover.
How big is it?
It stands 60cm tall to the top of the handle, and the widest basket is about 34.5cm across. The footprint is around 34.5 x 34.5cm, so it suits a bench, sideboard, or patio table.
What style of room does it suit?
French country, farmhouse, and rustic spaces. The weathered rust-brown mesh sits well with timber, stone, greenery, and aged metals, indoors or on a covered patio.
Because Oscar is hand-finished, slight variations in the rust-brown finish and texture are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.

I lurve the Rocco French Provincial Lidded Canister. It's just gorgeous! My pics are not its final destination or styling. I added these very large hydrangeas so you can see how big it is and how much it can hold. The product is high quality and stands on its own regardless of how you choose to style it. I adore the antique gold finish and will be buying other products. Communication about my purchase and delivery was great, and all products were packed well. Thankfully, I'm in a 2-bedroom apartment; otherwise, I'd need a VIP card.
I love my new products and will be purchasing more. They are particularly nice next to my ginger jars, but I'm testing out places for them before I decide whether I will style them with or without a floral arrangement and where they'll be placed. This is a great quality product and the size I wanted (fairly large). The delivery was prompt; communication was great about what was happening and when, and the products arrived safely and without damage, as they were packaged appropriately. I was so happy, I wrote to the team straight away to say thanks.
I enjoyed reading the Chateau Styling Guide very much. I appreciate the collection of beautiful pieces Lucie has made available to her clients. And I agree with the idea that one should never ‘rush’ to complete a room or your home. It is so satisfying to finally find that one special piece you know will add to the look of your home. Thank you so much for this booklet. It will be a great resource to refer to.
I have never been a clock-watcher, but all that changed with Maude. I can't stop looking at her. Out of the box, slip in an AA battery and on to the wall, just like that! She is simply gorgeous.
This is a present for my horse loving daughter in law. I'm sure it will take pride of place on her mantle piece. Again I love this Web site which I will be visiting often.
Found this beautiful elegant Swan for my garden online via a search at Chateau Living. A great price, quality and excellent ordering and delivery. Would definitely purchase from this business again. They have such a beautiful variety of products.
It was my testing the waters first purchase to check out this new store & what’s on offer. I loved the idea of supplying cast iron cute animal figurines as they’re practical, good looking, solid durable material, great rust finish (no need to buy expensive rust effect paint). Just ready to weather and brings a smile on your dial. I placed my frog with his hands up as if in religious praying gesture next to the concrete funny sign scored at Vinnies reading: grant me patience Lord but hurry - I believe the praying frog and the sign go comically together. I’m thinking of getting the other frog too in its hilarious pose possibly in green patina for contrast. I can confirm it’s heavy cast iron with attractive rust patina. These casts fill the gap in the market dominated by laser cut cortina steel offerings. Just something old school different and complimentary to your garden /house decor. Pleased it’s introduced to Australian market and once for change not made in China… but in France known for its cast iron tradition. We own 18th century French anvil won at an antique auction which is our proud possession so happy to score more in heavy casts.
This may not show on the store website that well but they’re actually old gold colour. It’s lightweight thin metal so perhaps inside or sheltered outdoor space would suit them the best as it may rust out & some fragile parts of the tail break exposed to the weather. They’re as large as described, cleverly designed for packaging - legs are separate with tightening screw. They make an impact due to their size & fit almost any decor with the colour & style.
