Risette French Provincial Handled Serving Tray, Set of 2, Antique Gold Metal

Two trays in aged gold, scrolled handles raised like the carry baskets of an old French kitchen.

Risette is a set of two trays in an antique gold metal, one larger and one smaller. Each has a flat base set inside a gilded frame, small feet at the corners, and a tall handle that arches up from both sides to meet a turned grip at the top. The handle is finished with soft scrollwork where it joins the tray.

The finish is worn and golden, with darker patina caught in the recesses, so each tray reads as something found rather than bought. Used together or apart, they carry bread and cheese to the table, gather bottles and glasses, or simply hold a still life on a sideboard.

The wine, candle, grapes, and other items in the photographs are styling and are not included. The tall stand holding a wine bottle and candle shown beside the trays is a separate piece and is also not included. You receive the two handled trays only.

Care & Keeping

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth to keep the finish looking its best. If anything spills, dry it straight away rather than leaving it to sit. Keep the trays indoors and away from damp so the aged gold holds. For anything wet or greasy, sit a plate or liner on the base. The patina is part of the look and will mellow gently over time.

Because Risette is finished by hand, the patina and tone vary a little from piece to piece, so no two are exactly alike. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
