On The Water
Pierced metal worked like lace, footed and handled, holding the light through its pattern.
Seychelle is a small footed cachepot in pierced metal, an urn-shaped body that flares to a rolled rim. The whole surface is worked in a fine filigree pattern, columns of pierced lacework with raised oval bosses between them, so light passes right through the wall. A ring handle sits on each side and three short feet lift it off the table.
The finish is an antique gold with an aged patina, a soft grey caught in the piercing and gold lifting on the raised detail. It has the look of something carried home from a market in the south, equally at home with a fern, with dried stems, or simply left empty as an object.
Because the metal is pierced through, it is not watertight, so it works best as a cachepot, with your plant kept in its own pot or a liner set inside. The fern, dried foliage, statue, and other pots in the photographs are styling and are not included.

How to style it
A few ways to use it:
- Drop a potted fern or trailing plant inside and let the foliage spill over the rim
- Fill it with dried stems or grasses for a low-care arrangement on a shelf or sill
- Use it on a dresser to hold odds and ends, or stand a candle inside for a soft pierced glow
- Group it with more pieces from our planters and garden and outdoor
Stylist's Tip Sit a small tealight or a string of fairy lights inside after dark. The pierced pattern throws its lacework across the table, which is half the reason to own it.
Care & Keeping
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth, working gently around the pierced detail. Keep a liner or an inner pot between any soil or water and the metal, since the body is not watertight. Best kept indoors or somewhere covered so the aged finish holds, and dried straight away if it ever gets wet. The patina is part of the look and will soften over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I plant straight into it?
It is best used as a cachepot. Because the metal is pierced, soil and water pass through, so keep your plant in its own pot or set a liner inside and lower that in.
Is it watertight?
No. The pierced pattern runs right through the wall, so it will not hold water. Use a waterproof liner or inner pot if you are planting something live.
What is it made of?
Metal, pierced and finished in an antique gold with an aged patina. It has a ring handle on each side and three small feet.
How big is it?
About 18 cm across and 17.5 cm tall, a small cachepot that suits a fern, a trailing plant, or dried stems.
Are the plants included?
No. The fern, dried foliage, and other pots shown are styling only. You receive the cachepot on its own.
