Lilou French Provincial Glass Cake Dome, Footed Metal Tray, Pierced Crown Edge

Lilou is a glass cake dome on a footed metal tray, the larger of the pair. The tray has a pierced crown edge and sits on small ball feet, finished in a rustic rust-brown. The clear glass dome lifts off by a round knob on top.

The tray is about 24.5 cm across and the piece stands roughly 16.5 cm tall with the dome on, so it takes a small cake, a cluster of cupcakes or a few pastries. Lift the dome to serve. Left empty, it works as a cloche over a candle or a keepsake. The plate shown under the cakes in some photos is for styling and is not included.

Care & Keeping

Wash the glass dome by hand in warm water and dry it with a soft cloth. Wipe the metal tray with a barely damp cloth and dry it rather than soaking it. Keep the piece indoors, and lift the dome by the knob with care, as glass can chip if knocked.

Because the Lilou tray is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture and grain are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
