On The Water
A slim timber ledge raised on an ornate acanthus bracket, equal parts shelf and ornament.
Paulette pairs a slim fir timber ledge with a deep, pierced acanthus bracket beneath. The bracket is finished in a distressed white with antique gold worked into the recesses, so the scrollwork reads aged rather than new, while the ledge keeps a warmer washed timber tone. The carved-look moulding runs symmetrically from a central cartouche out to a pair of C-scrolls at each end.
At 60cm wide it works as a small mantel above a fireplace that has none, or as a display ledge in an entry, hallway, or bedroom. The ledge is shallow at 15cm, sized for a candle, a framed photo, a short stack of books, or a small bundle of dried stems. It suits French provincial and French country rooms, and the distressed finish sits comfortably against sage, cream, or warm white walls.

How to style it
Paulette is a shallow ledge, so keep what you set on it low and few.
- Stand a single pillar from our candle holders with a sprig of greenery, the way the photos show.
- Set a small framed print and a bud vase from our vases for an entry or hallway.
- Use it as a mini mantel above a console, or pair two at different heights on a stair wall.
- Group it with other shelves and corbels for a layered French provincial wall.
Stylist's Tip Hang Paulette a little higher than a normal shelf so the bracket sits near eye level and reads as the feature. Keep the ledge styling low so nothing competes with the scrollwork.
Care & Keeping
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth, and use a dry soft brush to lift dust out of the pierced scrollwork. Keep it indoors and away from damp, since the timber and moulded bracket are not sealed for outdoor use. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cloths, which can wear back the antique gold and distressed finish. The ledge is sized for light decorative items only, and fixings are not included.

Can Paulette be used outdoors?
It is made for indoor use. The fir timber ledge and moulded bracket are not sealed for weather, so keep it inside or in a fully covered, dry spot away from direct damp.
What style of room does it suit?
French provincial and French country first, with a Baroque lean from the scrollwork. The distressed white and antique gold sit well against sage, cream, or warm white walls, and pair with timber, rattan, and soft linen.
How big is it?
It is 60cm wide and 23cm tall overall, with the ledge sitting about 15cm out from the wall. That is roughly the width of a small mantel, wide enough to anchor the space above a console or a bed.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Each piece is hand-finished, so the distressing and the way the gold catches in the carving vary a little from one to the next. These small differences are part of the character and are not faults.
How much can the ledge hold?
The ledge is shallow and meant for light decorative items, a candle, a small frame, a bud vase, or a bundle of dried stems. Mounting hardware is not included, and we suggest fixing it to a wall stud or using a wall anchor rated for the weight.
Because Paulette is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
