Paulette French Provincial Wall Shelf, Ornate Carved Scroll Bracket 60cm

A slim timber ledge raised on an ornate acanthus bracket, equal parts shelf and ornament.

Paulette pairs a slim fir timber ledge with a deep, pierced acanthus bracket beneath. The bracket is finished in a distressed white with antique gold worked into the recesses, so the scrollwork reads aged rather than new, while the ledge keeps a warmer washed timber tone. The carved-look moulding runs symmetrically from a central cartouche out to a pair of C-scrolls at each end.

At 60cm wide it works as a small mantel above a fireplace that has none, or as a display ledge in an entry, hallway, or bedroom. The ledge is shallow at 15cm, sized for a candle, a framed photo, a short stack of books, or a small bundle of dried stems. It suits French provincial and French country rooms, and the distressed finish sits comfortably against sage, cream, or warm white walls.

Care & Keeping

Dust gently with a soft dry cloth, and use a dry soft brush to lift dust out of the pierced scrollwork. Keep it indoors and away from damp, since the timber and moulded bracket are not sealed for outdoor use. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cloths, which can wear back the antique gold and distressed finish. The ledge is sized for light decorative items only, and fixings are not included.

Because Paulette is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
