Rachelle Moroccan Pierced Metal Candle Lantern, Antique Copper Verdigris 33cm

A pierced metal lantern in worn copper and verdigris, the kind that throws rosettes of candlelight across a dark table once you set a flame inside.

Rachelle is a barrel-shaped candle lantern pressed and pierced from metal, finished in an antique copper warmed with verdigris green. The whole body is worked in a dense rosette and mandala pattern, banded twice with studded straps, and topped with an open rim and a swing handle for carrying or hanging.

Stand a candle or a battery tealight inside and the pierced pattern throws light across a wall or table. It is 33cm tall, 44cm with the handle up, and 24cm across, a real presence on a sideboard or mantel.

Care & Keeping

Dust with a soft dry brush to lift dust out of the piercing, and wipe with a barely damp cloth, drying straight after. Keep it indoors or under cover, since steady damp will mark the finish. If you burn a real candle, let it cool before moving and never leave a flame unattended.

Because Rachelle is hand-finished, the antique copper, the verdigris patina, and the surface marks vary from piece to piece and add to the character of each one. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
