A wide golden bowl raised on an acanthus foot, wearing a garland the way old silver wears its crest.
Orlando is a compote bowl in iron, his wide flared cup carrying a cast flower and leaf garland on the front. He stands on a turned stem over an acanthus pressed foot ringed with a Greek key border, and the whole of him wears an antique gold patina rubbed back to darker tones.
At 36cm across and 27cm tall he is the generous size, made for a cascade of succulents, a pile of fruit, or the centre of a table set for people who linger.

Iron, with the garland cast and applied to the bowl and the acanthus detail pressed into the foot, all finished in an antique gold patina.
Can I put fruit straight in him?
Whole fruit with skins on sits happily inside. For bread or anything unwrapped, lay a cloth or paper liner in first to keep food and finish apart.
Can he hold plants?
Yes, his wide bowl takes a whole cluster of succulents in their nursery pots. Water them at the sink and return them once drained.
Is he steady with a full bowl?
His foot is broad and the bowl sits low over it. Give him a flat, level surface and load the bowl evenly rather than stacking one side.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close. The patina is applied by hand, so the balance of bright and dark shifts a little from piece to piece, which is part of the intended character.
