Berenice is the smallest of three woven wire cage lanterns, an urn-shaped piece in aged metal with a weathered grey-green finish. The body is a twist of open wire mesh with a banded middle, topped by a pierced beaded collar and a looped carry handle. A clear glass insert sits inside on a small stand to hold a pillar candle and shield the flame.
At 21 cm tall and 15 cm across at its widest, it is the little one, easy to tuck onto a shelf, a bedside, a windowsill or a set table, indoors or on a covered verandah, and the handle means it can hang or be carried out to the garden.
