Emilie French Provincial Scroll-Handle Garden Urn Planter, Weathered Patina 50cm

The grand French garden urn with scrolled handles, weathered to the soft grey of a piece left out for decades.

Emilie is a campana garden urn planter, the tall French shape with scrolled volute handles at the shoulders. It is cast magnesia composite with a gadrooned flared rim, a fluted lower bowl and a knopped stem on a stepped square plinth. The finish is a weathered antique patina, pale grey worn through to rust-brown in the hollows, so it carries the look of an old garden urn rather than something new.

It stands 50 cm tall and has real weight to it, so it anchors a spot indoors or out. The scrolled handles and tall bowl make it a piece in its own right, with or without a plant. Set it on the floor by a doorway, or raise it on a plinth or console as a sculptural urn. The branches shown are for styling and are not included.

Care & Keeping

Dust gently with a soft dry cloth. The cast magnesia finish suits indoors or a covered outdoor spot, and the patina will mellow further outside over time. Keep it out of waterlogged soil and standing water, and bring it under cover in frost. Use a liner or a separate pot when planting so moisture does not sit against the inside.

Because Emilie is hand-finished, slight variations in tone and the weathered patina are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
