A pair of wings caught mid-spread, moulded in soft worn white.
Séraphine is a matched pair of angel wings, a left and a right, hung side by side so they read as one set of wings opening outward. Each wing is moulded with layered feather detail, from the small overlapping feathers at the shoulder out to the long primaries at the tip, and finished in a distressed white worn back to a warm clay tone along the raised edges.
They are cast in a moulded composite with a stone-like weight and feel, so they sit against the wall with the quiet presence of something older than it is. The chipped, rubbed finish is applied on purpose and is part of the charm.
Hung as a pair they run about 82 cm across and 21.5 cm tall, which is a long, low shape rather than a tall one. That makes them easy to place above a sideboard, a bedhead or a mantel, where a vertical piece would fight the furniture underneath.

How to style it
A few ways to use them:
- Hang the two with a small gap in the middle, tips pointing out, so they read as one spread pair
- Centre them above a sideboard, a console or a bedhead, where the low shape has room to run
- Or angle them so the tips lift into a shallow V, which gives a little more height and a lighter look
- Lean one at each end of a mantel rather than hanging, with candles between
- Group with more pieces from our wall decor
Stylist's Tip Mark your centre point first, then hang each wing the same distance out from it and at the same height. A gap of two or three centimetres in the middle is enough. Any wider and they stop reading as one pair.
Care & Keeping
Dust with a soft, dry cloth, working gently along the feathers. The composite is stone-like and can chip or crack if knocked or dropped, so handle and hang it with care. The chipped, worn finish is intended and part of the look, so there is no need to touch it up. Keep it indoors and away from damp, and hang each wing from a wall fixing rated for the weight.

How much wall space do I need?
Allow about 82 cm across and 21.5 cm in height for the pair hung flat, with a small gap in the middle. Each wing on its own is 41 cm wide and 21.5 cm tall. If you angle them so the tips lift, as in some of the photos, they take up a little less width and a little more height.
What is it made of?
A moulded magnesium oxide composite, which has a stone-like weight and feel, finished in distressed white over a warm clay tone.
Is the worn, chipped look meant to be there?
Yes. The distressing is applied on purpose for an aged look, so the worn edges and clay tones coming through are part of the style.
Can I use them outdoors?
They are made for indoor use. The composite and painted finish are not suited to weather, so keep them inside and dry.
Because Séraphine is finished by hand, the distressing and tone vary a little from piece to piece, so no two are exactly alike. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.

It was my testing the waters first purchase to check out this new store & what’s on offer. I loved the idea of supplying cast iron cute animal figurines as they’re practical, good looking, solid durable material, great rust finish (no need to buy expensive rust effect paint). Just ready to weather and brings a smile on your dial. I placed my frog with his hands up as if in religious praying gesture next to the concrete funny sign scored at Vinnies reading: grant me patience Lord but hurry - I believe the praying frog and the sign go comically together. I’m thinking of getting the other frog too in its hilarious pose possibly in green patina for contrast. I can confirm it’s heavy cast iron with attractive rust patina. These casts fill the gap in the market dominated by laser cut cortina steel offerings. Just something old school different and complimentary to your garden /house decor. Pleased it’s introduced to Australian market and once for change not made in China… but in France known for its cast iron tradition. We own 18th century French anvil won at an antique auction which is our proud possession so happy to score more in heavy casts.

This may not show on the store website that well but they’re actually old gold colour. It’s lightweight thin metal so perhaps inside or sheltered outdoor space would suit them the best as it may rust out & some fragile parts of the tail break exposed to the weather. They’re as large as described, cleverly designed for packaging - legs are separate with tightening screw. They make an impact due to their size & fit almost any decor with the colour & style.
