A statement Baroque wall mirror in hand-finished antique white with worn gold accents, crowned by an ornate sculpted cartouche and scrolling acanthus detail.
Versailles takes its cue from the gilded mirrors that line the state rooms of the palace he is named for. The rectangular frame is wrapped in sculpted acanthus scrolls, rope-twist beading and pierced cresting, then crowned with a sculpted cartouche at the top centre. The finish is layered, antique white worn back at the corners and the high points of the sculpted relief to reveal the warm gold-toned base underneath.
At 49 cm wide and 70 cm tall, Versailles is a mid-sized statement mirror, large enough to anchor a bedroom dressing table, an entryway console or a powder room vanity, without overwhelming the wall. The Baroque shape and worn gold finish make him a focal point even in a quiet room.

Versailles is happiest where his Baroque silhouette can be seen against a quiet wall, with a styled vignette beneath.
Stylist's Tip Versailles wants a quiet wall colour to do his job, mushroom, soft grey, pale taupe or warm white all let the sculpted relief and gold accents read clearly. A busy wallpaper or strong saturated colour behind him will swallow the silhouette.
Dust the sculpted frame with a soft dry brush or microfibre cloth, working gently into the acanthus scrolls, beading and cartouche detail. For deeper cleaning, use a barely damp cloth followed by an immediate dry. Clean the mirror surface with glass cleaner sprayed onto a microfibre cloth, not directly onto the mirror, so liquid does not seep behind the frame. Do not immerse in water. Indoor use only. Hang from a secure wall fixing rated for at least 10 kg to allow a safety margin.
The gold is a hand-applied accent finish over the moulded fir wood and MDF frame. The warmth of the colour reads as gilt and the worn treatment at the high points gives the piece its hand-finished character, the same treatment used across French Provincial reproduction antiques.
Versailles is 3.5 kg, so a single wall fixing rated for 10 kg or two fixings into plasterboard anchors is sufficient. The back has a hanging point ready for hook or D-ring fixings, which are not supplied.
Yes, the 49 cm width suits a powder room vanity or guest bathroom basin. Avoid hanging directly above a shower or splash zone, the mirror is rated for indoor use and the sculpted detail should be kept out of constant steam and water spray.
Versailles is designed for indoor use only. The fir wood frame will warp and the antique white finish will lift with dew, rain or direct sun.
Versailles is hand-finished, so subtle variations in the antique white patina, the depth of the worn gold accents at the corners and the catch of light on the sculpted detail are part of the character. No two pieces are identical.
Because Versailles is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, gold accents, and sculpted detail are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.

It was my testing the waters first purchase to check out this new store & what’s on offer. I loved the idea of supplying cast iron cute animal figurines as they’re practical, good looking, solid durable material, great rust finish (no need to buy expensive rust effect paint). Just ready to weather and brings a smile on your dial. I placed my frog with his hands up as if in religious praying gesture next to the concrete funny sign scored at Vinnies reading: grant me patience Lord but hurry - I believe the praying frog and the sign go comically together. I’m thinking of getting the other frog too in its hilarious pose possibly in green patina for contrast. I can confirm it’s heavy cast iron with attractive rust patina. These casts fill the gap in the market dominated by laser cut cortina steel offerings. Just something old school different and complimentary to your garden /house decor. Pleased it’s introduced to Australian market and once for change not made in China… but in France known for its cast iron tradition. We own 18th century French anvil won at an antique auction which is our proud possession so happy to score more in heavy casts.

This may not show on the store website that well but they’re actually old gold colour. It’s lightweight thin metal so perhaps inside or sheltered outdoor space would suit them the best as it may rust out & some fragile parts of the tail break exposed to the weather. They’re as large as described, cleverly designed for packaging - legs are separate with tightening screw. They make an impact due to their size & fit almost any decor with the colour & style.

The grey version has a weathered stone finish, chalky on the raised edges and darker in the recesses, so it reads as mostly grey.
