Lionel French Provincial Floor Vase, Aged Stone Urn 56cm

Weathered grey stone, an amphora curve, and a wide mouth that takes bare winter branches without a fuss.

Lionel is a tall floor vase made from cast magnesia composite and finished to read like old weathered stone. The surface carries a chalky grey patina with darker mineral shading low on the body, the kind of ageing you find on a garden urn left out through a few seasons. The mouth flares wide, the shoulder is full, and the form draws in to a narrow foot.

At 56.5cm tall it sits as a floor piece beside a fireplace, in an entry, or at the end of a console where it has room around it. It suits long bare branches, dried grasses or pampas, and looks settled left empty. The neck is wide enough for a generous armful of stems.

Care & Keeping

Dust gently with a soft dry cloth. Keep Lionel indoors or under cover outside, magnesia composite can take on water and is best kept clear of frost and pooling rain. Lift rather than drag it, and sit it on felt pads if it stands on a finished floor.

Because Lionel is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture and grain are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
