An angel at rest, half a metre of her, in a white worn back to soft grey at the edges.
Aurora is a resin angel figure finished in distressed white. She is the largest of our angel pieces, broad through the base and low in the shoulders, with drapery folding across the front of the figure. The white has been rubbed back on the raised folds so the recesses read a shade deeper, and each one is hand-finished, which means the depth of that wear varies a little from piece to piece.
She measures 50cm high, 40cm wide and 35cm deep, and weighs about 5kg. That footprint is wider than most statues, so she wants floor space, a generous console or a low plinth rather than a narrow shelf. An entry corner, a hearth, or a sheltered nook in the garden all work for her.
| Height | 50cm |
| Width | 40cm |
| Depth | 35cm |
| Weight | Approx. 5kg |
| Materials | Resin |
| Finish | Distressed white |
| Style | French Provincial |
| Suitable for | Indoors and sheltered outdoor areas |
Aurora takes up room, so plan around her footprint instead of squeezing her into a gap.
Stylist's TipPlace her low and look at her from slightly below rather than down onto her. She is modelled to be seen at about seated height, and that lower viewpoint keeps the face and the fall of the drapery in proportion.
Sweep dust out of the folds with a dry paintbrush before you wipe her, otherwise a damp cloth just pushes it deeper into the recesses. Follow with a barely damp cloth and dry her immediately. Outdoors, keep her under cover and lift her off wet paving after rain so water does not sit beneath the base. Direct summer sun will fade resin, so a shaded position keeps the white even.
In a sheltered position, yes. Under a pergola, on a verandah or in a shaded courtyard. Resin will chalk and fade if it is left in full sun and open rain.
Allow at least 40cm by 35cm of clear surface. She is nearly as wide as she is tall, so measure the base rather than the height.
Not comfortably. At 5kg and 40cm wide she is better on the floor, a hearth or a wide console.
The distressed white is a surface finish. It is durable in normal use, but it will mark if she is scrubbed or cleaned with solvents.
A pair of tall candle holders or a large planter at a similar height balances her width.
Because Aurora is hand-finished, slight variations in shading and the depth of the distressing are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.

I have never been a clock-watcher, but all that changed with Maude. I can't stop looking at her. Out of the box, slip in an AA battery and on to the wall, just like that! She is simply gorgeous.

Lady Ophelia French Provincial Fairy Statue, Natural Rust Cast Iron 30cm
It was my testing the waters first purchase to check out this new store & what’s on offer. I loved the idea of supplying cast iron cute animal figurines as they’re practical, good looking, solid durable material, great rust finish (no need to buy expensive rust effect paint). Just ready to weather and brings a smile on your dial. I placed my frog with his hands up as if in religious praying gesture next to the concrete funny sign scored at Vinnies reading: grant me patience Lord but hurry - I believe the praying frog and the sign go comically together. I’m thinking of getting the other frog too in its hilarious pose possibly in green patina for contrast. I can confirm it’s heavy cast iron with attractive rust patina. These casts fill the gap in the market dominated by laser cut cortina steel offerings. Just something old school different and complimentary to your garden /house decor. Pleased it’s introduced to Australian market and once for change not made in China… but in France known for its cast iron tradition. We own 18th century French anvil won at an antique auction which is our proud possession so happy to score more in heavy casts.
The Frog Prince French Provincial Frog Statue, Natural Rust Cast Iron 30cm
I got this little figurine as a freebie & it’s pretty cute. Heavy cast metal nice detail to it. He would look great in larger sizes too I think.
Mr Capone French Provincial Terrier Statue in a Bowler Hat, Natural Rust Cast Iron 14.5cm
This may not show on the store website that well but they’re actually old gold colour. It’s lightweight thin metal so perhaps inside or sheltered outdoor space would suit them the best as it may rust out & some fragile parts of the tail break exposed to the weather. They’re as large as described, cleverly designed for packaging - legs are separate with tightening screw. They make an impact due to their size & fit almost any decor with the colour & style.

Guido French Provincial Fleur de Lis Urn Vase, Aged Bronze Finish 43.5cm
I bought this piece as I could see it in my mind's eye having an suspended impact with my high end Brazilian quartz crystal display. Such a well made piece, sturdy and if I didn't know better, from another time. I am planning a candle holder from Chateau Living to complete this display, just having trouble deciding from the elegant range they have available. Very pleased :) Who would have thought you could combine Brazil with French Provincial so perfectly.

Store owner replied: Corinne, a frog doing a handstand for the grandchildren to find is exactly the job we had in mind for him. Thank you for sharing the photo. Lucie
It’s beautiful the only things I thought disappointing Were .. it’s a bit smaller than indicated by 3 cms across the bowl And it’s pretty much all grey not a rustic patchy colour It’s still beautiful
The Willowmere Grey French Provincial Pedestal Bird Feeder, Weathered Grey Cast Iron 58cm
Store owner replied: Thank you so much for the honest review and the photo, Lynne, and I'm so glad you still find her beautiful. The 30cm is measured across the dish including the little bird perched on the rim, so the bowl itself is a few centimetres smaller. We'll make that clearer on the listing. The grey version has a weathered stone finish, chalky on the raised edges and darker in the recesses, so it reads as mostly grey. If you ever fall for the patchier rustic look, the Willowmere also comes in a natural rust finish. Lucie
He is perfect little frog , sitting by my planter
