A round mandala in solid timber, the soft chalk of distressed whitewash settling into every cut, a quiet, hypnotic centrepiece for a wall that needs something more than a frame.
The Amber spans 60 cm across, its concentric rings of detail catching light differently depending on the time of day. Hand-finished in a distressed whitewash, the natural timber grain bleeds gently through the worn paintwork, giving each piece the soft patina of something that has hung on a French farmhouse wall for years.
A statement on its own, or layered into a gallery wall with smaller pieces. Each Amber is hand-finished, which means slight variations in paintwork, grain and pattern are part of the piece's character, no two are quite identical.
| Diameter | 60 cm |
| Depth | 1.8 cm |
| Weight | 3 kg (net) |
| Materials | Solid timber |
| Finish | Distressed whitewash · natural timber bleed-through |
| Style | French Provincial · French country · cottage |
| Suitable for | Indoor wall use |
The Amber wants a quiet wall and good light. A few of our favourite ways to style it:
Stylist's Tip A round wall piece softens a room full of straight lines, try it in a space that already has rectangular furniture, framed art, or a strong horizontal element. The contrast is what makes it sing.
Display indoors only, away from direct moisture and prolonged direct sunlight. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth or a soft long-bristled brush to reach into the patterned detail. Avoid wet cloths or chemical cleaners, the whitewashed finish is intentionally aged and may lift if dampened. Small variations in pattern depth, paint coverage, and timber grain are part of the piece's hand-finished character.
The Amber has a fixing point on the back for hanging from a single picture hook or screw. Because the piece is solid timber and weighs 3 kg, we recommend a heavy-duty wall hook rated to at least 5 kg, ideally fixed into a wall stud or with a hollow-wall anchor for plasterboard.
Each Amber is hand-finished, so small variations in the timber grain, distressed paintwork, and pattern detail are natural and part of the piece's character. We photograph in natural light to represent the colour as accurately as possible, but please allow for slight variation between screens.
The Amber is a natural fit for French Provincial, French country, European farmhouse, and cottage interiors. Its distressed whitewashed finish also complements Hamptons, coastal, modern rustic, boho, and layered eclectic styles where natural materials and aged textures are central.
We recommend indoor use only. Sustained humidity will lift the whitewashed finish and warp the timber over time. A dry, well-ventilated room is ideal.
Yes, slightly. Each Amber is hand-finished, and small variations in the timber grain, distressed paintwork, and pattern depth are natural. These are not faults; they're part of the piece's character and the reason no two are identical.
Because the Amber is hand-finished, slight variations in pattern, paintwork, texture, and grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.

I have never been a clock-watcher, but all that changed with Maude. I can't stop looking at her. Out of the box, slip in an AA battery and on to the wall, just like that! She is simply gorgeous.

Lady Ophelia French Provincial Fairy Statue, Natural Rust Cast Iron 30cm
It was my testing the waters first purchase to check out this new store & what’s on offer. I loved the idea of supplying cast iron cute animal figurines as they’re practical, good looking, solid durable material, great rust finish (no need to buy expensive rust effect paint). Just ready to weather and brings a smile on your dial. I placed my frog with his hands up as if in religious praying gesture next to the concrete funny sign scored at Vinnies reading: grant me patience Lord but hurry - I believe the praying frog and the sign go comically together. I’m thinking of getting the other frog too in its hilarious pose possibly in green patina for contrast. I can confirm it’s heavy cast iron with attractive rust patina. These casts fill the gap in the market dominated by laser cut cortina steel offerings. Just something old school different and complimentary to your garden /house decor. Pleased it’s introduced to Australian market and once for change not made in China… but in France known for its cast iron tradition. We own 18th century French anvil won at an antique auction which is our proud possession so happy to score more in heavy casts.
The Frog Prince French Provincial Frog Statue, Natural Rust Cast Iron 30cm
I got this little figurine as a freebie & it’s pretty cute. Heavy cast metal nice detail to it. He would look great in larger sizes too I think.
Mr Capone French Provincial Terrier Statue in a Bowler Hat, Natural Rust Cast Iron 14.5cm
This may not show on the store website that well but they’re actually old gold colour. It’s lightweight thin metal so perhaps inside or sheltered outdoor space would suit them the best as it may rust out & some fragile parts of the tail break exposed to the weather. They’re as large as described, cleverly designed for packaging - legs are separate with tightening screw. They make an impact due to their size & fit almost any decor with the colour & style.

Guido French Provincial Fleur de Lis Urn Vase, Aged Bronze Finish 43.5cm
I bought this piece as I could see it in my mind's eye having an suspended impact with my high end Brazilian quartz crystal display. Such a well made piece, sturdy and if I didn't know better, from another time. I am planning a candle holder from Chateau Living to complete this display, just having trouble deciding from the elegant range they have available. Very pleased :) Who would have thought you could combine Brazil with French Provincial so perfectly.

Store owner replied: Corinne, a frog doing a handstand for the grandchildren to find is exactly the job we had in mind for him. Thank you for sharing the photo. Lucie
It’s beautiful the only things I thought disappointing Were .. it’s a bit smaller than indicated by 3 cms across the bowl And it’s pretty much all grey not a rustic patchy colour It’s still beautiful
The Willowmere Grey French Provincial Pedestal Bird Feeder, Weathered Grey Cast Iron 58cm
Store owner replied: Thank you so much for the honest review and the photo, Lynne, and I'm so glad you still find her beautiful. The 30cm is measured across the dish including the little bird perched on the rim, so the bowl itself is a few centimetres smaller. We'll make that clearer on the listing. The grey version has a weathered stone finish, chalky on the raised edges and darker in the recesses, so it reads as mostly grey. If you ever fall for the patchier rustic look, the Willowmere also comes in a natural rust finish. Lucie
He is perfect little frog , sitting by my planter
