On The Water
Two wire baskets hang from a slim antique gold frame, one set a little higher than the other, the way an old shop scale used to sit on a counter.
Bertrand is built like an old merchant's scale. A slim central post rises from a round weighted base, the metal moulded to look like segments of bamboo, and two arms reach out at different heights. From each one hangs a small basket on a hooked handle. The frame wears an antique gold finish with a darker aged patina worked into the diamond wire mesh, so it reads vintage rather than new.
It stands 56.5 cm tall with a 42 cm arm span, so it holds its own on a console or sideboard without taking over. Each basket lifts straight off its hook, so you can plant one up or swap the contents whenever the mood changes. Fill them with succulents, air plants, crystals, or small trinkets, or leave one empty and let the shape do the work.

How to style it
A few ways to put it to work:
- Plant the baskets with trailing succulents and group it near other pieces from our planters.
- Use it as a tabletop centrepiece beside a couple of vases and a few cut stems.
- Set it on an entry table with a small dish for keys and a folded linen cloth underneath.
- Bring it into a garden room alongside other garden and outdoor finds.
Stylist's Tip Let the two baskets carry different weights. A potted succulent on one side, a single pale crystal or a small bundle of dried flowers on the other, so the scale looks gently tipped rather than even.
Care & Keeping
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth, and lift the baskets off their hooks to reach the mesh. Keep Bertrand indoors or somewhere sheltered, since the antique gold finish is not made for steady weather. If you plant directly into a basket, sit a liner or a small pot inside so soil and water stay off the metal.

Can it go outside?
It's best kept indoors or in a covered, dry spot like a sunroom or a sheltered porch. The antique gold finish is decorative and will weather if it sits out in the rain.

How big is it?

Close, but not identical. Bertrand is hand-finished, so the patina and the gold tone vary a little from piece to piece. That variation is part of the look, not a fault.
Do the baskets come off?
Yes. Both baskets hang from open hooks and lift straight off, so you can plant them up or swap what's inside without any tools.
