Chantal French Provincial Metal Carry Basket, Tall Handle, Distressed White

A woven metal basket with a tall handle, made to be carried.

Chantal is a carry basket in distressed white metal. The sides are woven from flat metal straps, and the tall arched handle is dark wire with a rattan-wrapped grip. The white is chipped back to darker tones along the edges, so it has a worn, vintage market-basket look.

It is about 43 cm long and 26 cm wide, big enough to carry breakfast for two, a few bottles, or a stack of garden cuttings. Lift it by the handle to carry it from room to room or out to the garden, then set it down to serve. The food, candle and flowers in the photos are styling and are not included.

Care & Keeping

Wipe with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth and dry it straight after. Keep it indoors and out of standing water, as moisture can mark the finish and the rattan grip over time. For food, set a plate, board or liner in the base rather than placing items straight onto the metal.

Because the Chantal basket is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture and tone are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
