Violette French Provincial Cake Stand, Timber Top, Distressed White Pedestal

A timber top on a soft white pedestal, worn just enough to look like it has always been there.

Violette is a pedestal cake stand with a round natural timber top set above a pierced metal gallery, worked in a row of linked circles. It stands on a turned baluster column and a flared foot, all finished in a distressed antique white.

The white is deliberately worn, rubbed back here and there to a darker tone so the stand looks gently aged rather than new. With the warm timber above and the soft white below, it carries that French farmhouse feeling, equally at home holding a cake, a stack of pastries, or a small still life.

The cake, fruit, tea things, and other styling in the photographs are not included. You receive the stand on its own. This is a short run, with only a few available.

Care & Keeping

Wipe with a soft, barely damp cloth and dry straight away. For anything wet or sticky, sit a plate or a piece of baking paper on the timber top. Keep it indoors and away from damp so the finish holds. The worn, chipped look is intended and part of the charm, so there is no need to touch it up. An occasional rub of food-safe oil will keep the timber looking its best.

Because Violette is finished by hand, the timber grain and the distressing vary from piece to piece, so no two are exactly alike. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
