On The Water
A shallow feeding dish on a pedestal, distressed white, with two little birds already perched on the rim waiting for the real ones.
Thibault is the larger of the pair, a pedestal bird feeder cast in slim aged metal with a distressed white finish worn back at the edges. The shallow bowl carries a fine scale texture, and two small birds perch on the rim, cast as part of the piece.
Fill the bowl with seed and stand it where you can watch it from a window. The dish is shallow rather than deep, so it holds a little water for drinking and splashing as well, and indoors it works as a decorative pedestal dish. The bowl lifts off the baluster stem for easy cleaning and refilling.

How to style it
A few ways to place it:
- Fill it with seed and set it in the garden where the birds feel safe; see more in the garden and outdoor collection.
- Pair Thibault with the smaller Gerard for a stepped duo at different heights, sold separately.
- Bring it indoors as a pedestal dish for fruit, trinkets, or a pillar candle on a console.
- Style it on an outdoor table with roses or wildflowers for a soft, faded-garden look.
Stylist's Tip Put it within sight of a window but a few metres from the glass, and keep it a little above ground on a wall or post. Birds come down faster to a feeder with a clear view around it.
Care & Keeping
Tip out old seed and wipe the dish between refills, or rinse it and dry it well if it has held water. The aged metal will weather and deepen over time outside, which suits the look; if you would rather keep the distressed white crisp, keep it under cover and empty it before frost. Lift the dish off the stem to clean underneath.

Yes, though it is a feeder first. The dish is shallow, so it holds enough water for drinking and a quick splash rather than a deep bath. Empty it before frost, and keep it under cover if you want to preserve the distressed white.
What seed suits it?
An open dish like this suits a general wild bird seed mix or sunflower seed. Put out a shallow layer rather than filling it to the rim, so the seed gets eaten before it spoils, and tip out anything left after wet weather.
What style of space does it suit?
French provincial, country, and cottage spaces most of all, indoors or in the garden. The distressed white and perched birds also suit coastal and shabby-chic settings.
