On The Water
A wide, low garden urn the colour of weathered bronze, made for spilling ferns and loose stems over its rim.
Évangéline is a compote urn planter, the shallow wide bowl of a classical tazza on a short fluted stem and square plinth. It is cast magnesia composite with a gadrooned lower bowl and a rolled rim. The finish is a dark weathered patina in grey-brown with rust-toned shadows, mottled and rubbed back so it reads as an old garden urn left out through the seasons.
It measures 33 cm across and 26 cm tall, a low shape that sits well on a table or sideboard. The wide mouth suits a loose arrangement of ferns and stems or a trailing plant that spills over the edge. Indoors it works as a centrepiece, and outside it holds its own on a porch, patio or garden table. The arrangement shown is for styling and is not included.

How to style it
A few ways to use it:
- Fill it with a loose mound of ferns or trailing greenery as a table centrepiece, the way it is styled here
- Plant a low arrangement with a liner and stand it among your other planters
- Use it on a console or sideboard with candles and a small sculpture for a layered vignette
- Set it on an outdoor table for a garden-room look
Stylist's Tip The low wide bowl wants width, not height. Mass ferns and soft stems so they tumble just over the rim, and let the gadrooned bowl and dark patina show beneath.
Care & Keeping
The cast magnesia finish suits indoors, a covered spot or the open garden, and the dark patina will mellow further outside over time. Keep it out of waterlogged soil and standing water, and bring it under cover in frost. A clear outdoor sealer once a year will help the finish last longer. Use a liner or a separate pot when planting so moisture does not sit against the inside.

Can I use it outdoors?
Yes, in the open garden, on a porch or on a patio. The magnesia composite is made for outdoor use, and the dark patina will weather further over time. Avoid waterlogging, and bring it under cover in frost.
Does it have a drainage hole?
It comes without a drainage hole, so it works best with a liner or a shallow pot dropped inside. A hole can be drilled if you want to plant directly, with gravel underneath for drainage.
What can I put in it?
It suits low, wide arrangements: ferns, loose stems, a mounded posy or a trailing plant. The shallow bowl is made for spread rather than height. The arrangement in the photos is not included.
