Ariane French Provincial Wall Shelf, Carved Apron Whitewash 80cm

A wide shelf with a limewashed timber top and a chalky scrolled apron, the largest of three matching sizes.

Ariane is a wall shelf with a whitewashed fir timber top and a deep scrolled apron running along the front in chalky white. The apron is moulded in a carved fretwork design, and a turned spindle drops at each end like a small finial. At 80cm wide it is the largest of three matching sizes.

Hang it as a display ledge in an entry, over a bed, or along a hallway. The flat top takes a row of small frames, a stack of books and a candle, while the carved apron gives it the look of an old painted bracket shelf. Run all three sizes together for a stepped wall, or use Ariane on its own as the anchor.

How to style it

Ariane is a display ledge, not a storage shelf. A few ways:

• Line up small frames and a candle along the top near your other shelves

• Pair it with a wall piece above for a layered vignette

Care & Keeping

Dust with a soft dry cloth. Keep Ariane indoors and out of damp, the timber and painted apron are not sealed for wet areas. You will need screws and wall plugs suited to your wall type to hang it, ideally into a stud or solid anchor. It is made as a light display ledge, so keep the load modest rather than using it for storage.

Because Ariane is hand-finished, slight variations in paint wear, tone and grain are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
