A mandala carved into timber and washed in soft distressed white.
Louis is a square wall panel with a mandala design carved and cut into fir timber, finished in a soft distressed white that has been rubbed back so the pattern and the grain show through. The open sections let a little of the wall read behind the design.
At 60 cm square it holds a wall on its own over a bed, a sofa or a console, or sits in a group with other pieces. It is slim against the wall and hangs from a fixing on the back.

How to style it
A few ways to hang it.
- Centre it over a bed, a sofa or a console, with more pieces in wall decor
- Build it into a gallery wall with mirrors and framed prints
- Hang two together, side by side or stacked, for a larger feature
- Set it on a darker or coloured wall so the cut-out pattern reads clearly
Stylist's TipHang the centre of the mandala at eye level rather than centring it on the wall. On a 60 cm panel that usually means the hook sits a little higher than feels right, and the piece reads better for it.
Care & Keeping
Dust with a soft dry cloth, working into the cut-out sections with a soft brush now and then. Avoid wet cleaning and harsh chemicals, which will lift the distressed finish. Keep it indoors and out of long direct sun, which fades the white over time. Hang it with a fixing rated for the weight.

How does it hang?
There is a fixing on the back, so it goes onto a single hook or screw. Fixings are not included, so use one rated for the wall type and the weight.

Indoor use only. The timber and the distressed finish will lift and fade in damp or direct weather.

French Provincial, French country and cottage rooms first. The mandala pattern also settles into boho, coastal and warm modern interiors.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Close, not identical. Each panel is hand-finished, so the depth of the distressing and the grain showing through vary a little piece to piece.
Because Louis is hand-finished, slight variations in the distressing, tone and grain are natural and add to the character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
