A taller, wider pedestal cast in magnesia and topped with solid fir wood, sized for a layered cake, a styled cheese board or a candlelit centrepiece.
Léon is the larger French Provincial cake stand in the same family as Lawrence. A solid fir wood serving disc sits on a sculpted magnesia pedestal, hand-finished in antique white with scrollwork running around the base and chippy paint at the corners where the cast has been worn back to read as genuinely aged.
At 27 cm across and 19.5 cm tall, Léon holds a layered cake, a generous cheese course, a tall cluster of pillar candles or a sculptural floral arrangement with room to spare. He stands 6.5 cm taller than Lawrence and 3 cm wider, which is the difference between a single-tier birthday cake and a styled wedding-cake moment. Paired with Lawrence on a dessert table, the two heights make a complete display without needing a third piece.
Léon and Lawrence TogetherLéon is the larger of two cake stands in the same family. The smaller Lawrence cake stand (24 cm across, 13 cm tall) is sold separately. Used together at staggered heights they make a complete two-tier dessert display. All cakes, candles, blossoms, books and styling props shown in the photographs are not included.

How to style him
Léon is a workhorse pedestal that earns its place beyond the dessert table.
- Lift a two-tier birthday or christening cake and trail eucalyptus or olive branches around the base.
- Pair with the smaller Lawrence cake stand for a two-height dessert display, with Léon holding the main cake and Lawrence the cupcakes.
- Build a generous cheese course with brie, hard cheddar, figs, walnuts, and small ramekins of honey and quince paste.
- Cluster five to seven pillar candles of varying heights for a substantial evening centrepiece, paired with our candle holders.
- Use on a hallway console with a sculptural vase of dried hydrangeas and a stack of art books for a styled vignette.
Stylist's Tip Always slip a doily, baking paper round, or cake board between the fir top and anything wet or greasy. The wood is sealed but oils, butter creams, and acidic fruit juices will stain over time.
Care & Keeping
Wipe both the wood top and magnesia pedestal with a soft dry cloth, or a barely damp cloth followed by an immediate dry. Do not immerse in water and not dishwasher safe, as moisture will swell the fir grain and lift the antique white finish on the base. Use a doily or cake board between Léon and any moist food. Store indoors away from direct sunlight and heat.

What's the difference between Léon and Lawrence?
Same family, two sizes. Léon is 27 cm across and 19.5 cm tall. Lawrence is 24 cm across and 13 cm tall. Léon is the better choice for a two-tier cake or a substantial cheese course, Lawrence for a single-layer cake or a small candle vignette.
Is the fir wood top food safe?
The fir top is sealed and safe for general cake, fruit and cheese display when used with a doily, cake board or baking paper underneath. We recommend a barrier for anything moist, oily, or acidic to keep the grain looking new.
What size cake fits on top?
The disc is 27 cm across, so an 8 to 10 inch (20 to 25 cm) round cake sits comfortably with a frame of bare wood showing around the edge. A 12 inch cake will overhang slightly. Léon is the right size for a two-tier wedding cake, a styled christening cake, or a generous birthday cake without the wood disappearing under the icing.
Can I use it outdoors?
Léon is designed for indoor use. He can sit on a covered outdoor table for a short event in fine weather, but bring him inside before dew, rain, or strong heat. The fir wood will warp and the antique white finish will lift if left out.

Léon is hand-finished, so subtle variations in the antique white patina, the scroll detail and the natural fir grain are part of the character. No two pieces are identical.
