A horse stepping through the wall, head and mane in gilded relief, the rest left to imagination.
Cara is a horse head wall sculpture cast in magnesia composite and finished in aged gold over grey, the gilding brushed across the mane and muzzle so every muscle line catches light. She mounts to the wall on her oval back plate and stands 46cm nose to crest.
Where our Eclipse and Aurelius horses hold a console, Cara takes the wall itself, above a mantel, in a stairwell, or watching over a study.
Why we love it
- ◆The trophy effect, a sculpted head emerging from the wall with none of the taxidermy
- ◆Brushed gilding, aged gold over grey that reads like a bronze rescued from a chateau stable
- ◆Serious scale, 46cm of head and flowing mane that commands a wall from across the room
- ◆Completes the stable, the wall-mounted companion to our Eclipse and Aurelius statues
Dimensions & Details

| Materials | Cast magnesia composite |
| Finish | Aged gold over grey, hand-finished |
| Style | French Provincial · equestrian · classical |
| Suitable for | Indoor wall mounting |
How to style it
Cara wants height and a little drama.
- Mount above a mantel where a mirror would be too expected
- Give her a dark or moody wall so the gilding does the talking
- Pair with Eclipse or Aurelius from our sculptures and statues below on the console
- Anchor a stairwell wall among frames from our wall decor range
Stylist's TipHang her so the muzzle sits just above eye level, gazing across the room rather than down at you; horses read noble when you look up at them.
Care & Keeping
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth or brush along the mane. Keep her indoors, and use wall fixings rated well above her 3.2kg weight, anchored to a stud or with proper wall plugs.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does she mount to the wall?
She hangs from her oval back plate on solid wall fixings. At 3.2kg, anchor into a stud or use wall plugs rated well above her weight.
How far does she stand off the wall?
The head reaches 32cm out from the wall, which is what gives her the trophy presence, so allow clearance in narrow hallways.
Does she match the Eclipse and Aurelius statues?
They share the equestrian character and cast composite construction. Cara wears aged gold where the statues wear distressed white, so the pairing reads collected rather than matched.
Can she hang outdoors?
She is an indoor piece. A fully enclosed porch is the furthest outside she should live, away from rain and weather.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close. The gold is brushed on by hand, so where it catches over the grey varies slightly from piece to piece, which is part of the intended character.
Because Cara is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.

It’s beautiful the only things I thought disappointing Were .. it’s a bit smaller than indicated by 3 cms across the bowl And it’s pretty much all grey not a rustic patchy colour It’s still beautiful
The Willowmere Grey French Provincial Pedestal Bird Feeder, Weathered Grey Cast Iron 58cm
Store owner replied: Thank you so much for the honest review and the photo, Lynne, and I'm so glad you still find her beautiful. The 30cm is measured across the dish including the little bird perched on the rim, so the bowl itself is a few centimetres smaller. We'll make that clearer on the listing. The grey version has a weathered stone finish, chalky on the raised edges and darker in the recesses, so it reads as mostly grey. If you ever fall for the patchier rustic look, the Willowmere also comes in a natural rust finish. Lucie
