A slim mantel ledge with a carved rosette apron tucked beneath, the kind of small architectural shelf that takes up almost no depth but adds genuine character.
Jennifer is a wall-mounted ledge shelf with a solid fir wood top and a carved MDF apron tucked beneath. The apron features a central rosette with deep scallop-shell detail, flanked by curling acanthus scroll terminals at each end. The whole piece is finished in a soft distressed whitewash that wears back to a sandy undertone along the high points, with the timber top left in a warm natural finish for contrast.
At 54 cm wide, 14 cm tall, and only 10 cm deep, Jennifer is the slimmest piece in our mantel collection, sized for walls where the larger Virginie or Natalie would overpower. The shallow profile means she sits close to the wall without protruding into a walkway, suiting hallways, narrow walls beside doorways, or above small consoles.

Jennifer's slim profile gives you placement options the deeper shelves don't:
Stylist's Tip Jennifer's slim 10 cm depth means objects on top need to be narrower than that or they'll overhang the front edge. Stick to small candles, low vases, framed photos, and small sculptures rather than wider bowls or trays.
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth or a soft-bristle brush for the carved apron. The carved apron and timber top can both be wiped with a barely damp cloth and dried immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged damp. Indoor use only.
No, wall fixings are not supplied. Jennifer has mounting points along the back of the shelf and needs appropriate wall fixings for your wall type. Given her width, we recommend at least two fixings spread across the back, mounted into studs where possible, or using hollow wall anchors rated for at least 3 kg per fixing point.
The top shelf comfortably holds a styled display of objects up to around 2 kg in total spread across the length, small candles, framed photos, small sculptures, slim vases. The 10 cm depth means objects need to be narrower than that to sit safely on the shelf.
Jennifer is the smallest and slimmest in our mantel range. She's 14 cm tall with a 10 cm depth, suiting narrow walls and hallways. Vanessa is similar in format but slightly larger at 60 cm wide and 19 cm tall. Natalie is wider (54 cm) and shorter with pierced openwork carving. Virginie is the largest at 54 cm wide and 30 cm tall with a substantial scrolled apron. All four share the warm fir wood top and distressed whitewash MDF carving.
The decorative carved apron is MDF (medium-density fibreboard), hand-finished with a distressed whitewash. The top shelf is solid fir wood with a natural timber finish. MDF takes carved detail beautifully and holds the painted finish well, which is why it's used for ornamental architectural reproductions.
French Provincial, French country, English country, traditional, Hamptons, and architectural interiors. The rosette and scroll detail also suits romantic, shabby chic, and modern-vintage spaces where a small architectural accent is doing the heavy lifting.
Jennifer is hand-finished, so the chip pattern, paint distribution, and timber grain vary slightly from piece to piece. That's part of the appeal and the reason she reads as aged architectural salvage rather than mass-produced.
Because Jennifer is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and timber grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
