A petite iron lacework dome on a pedestal base, crowned with a fleur-de-lis, glowing softly with candlelight through the mesh.
Fleurine is a French Provincial candle cloche built from aged iron mesh with a sculpted fleur-de-lis finial and a foliate scrollwork medallion fixed to the front. The dome lifts away from a pedestal base, revealing a pierced lacework tray ringed with petal and quatrefoil cutouts. Every surface has been hand-finished in a soft grey-brown patina that reads as quietly weathered, the kind of finish that looks at home in a Provençal courtyard or a slate-floored hallway.
Standing 46 cm tall, Fleurine is the smaller of a pair. She holds a pillar candle comfortably under the dome, throws warm light through the mesh, and works just as beautifully with the cloche removed, used as a decorative tray for a candle, soaps, or a small posy. For a layered grouping, style her with her larger sister Cécile Candle Cloche on a console, dining table or covered verandah.
Please NoteThis listing is for the small 46 cm Fleurine Candle Cloche only. The larger 48 cm Cécile Candle Cloche shown in some styled photographs is sold separately. Pillar candles, side table and other props are for styling purposes only and are not included.
Why we love it
- ◆ Quiet drama for a mantel or console, the fleur-de-lis finial and pierced lace edge give height and texture without shouting.
- ◆ Aged iron, hand-finished, the soft grey patina warms beautifully against candlelight and reads as gently antique rather than new.
- ◆ Two pieces in one, the dome lifts off so the pedestal works on its own as a lacework cake stand or candle tray.
- ◆ Designed as a pair, pair Fleurine with her larger sister Cécile for a tiered grouping on a sideboard or dining centrepiece.

How to style it
Fleurine is built to layer. A few ways to bring her into the room.
- Pair her with her larger sister Cécile Candle Cloche for a tiered grouping on a console or sideboard.
- Cluster with other candle holders and a few stems of dried lavender or eucalyptus for a soft French country mantel.
- Lift the dome off and use the lacework pedestal as a tray for a pillar candle, a stack of vintage books, or a tea ritual.
- Set her on a covered verandah or conservatory shelf with a chunky LED pillar candle for warm evening glow.
Stylist's Tip Style Fleurine slightly in front of Cécile on a console so the two finials read as a layered silhouette. Light battery-operated pillars for a soft, safe evening glow without smoke.
Care & Keeping
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth or a soft brush to clear the mesh. Keep out of direct rain and prolonged damp to preserve the aged patina. We recommend battery-operated LED pillar candles inside the dome for safety and to keep the mesh free of soot. Use real candles only with care and never leave a flame unattended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Fleurine outdoors?
Yes, in covered outdoor areas such as a verandah, conservatory, or sheltered patio. Avoid leaving her in direct rain or full afternoon sun for extended periods so the aged finish stays as you bought it.
What style of decor does Fleurine suit?
She sits naturally in French Provincial, French country, cottage, and quiet eclectic interiors. The aged iron and fleur-de-lis read equally well in a Provençal kitchen, a country hallway, or a slate-floored conservatory.
How big is she?
Fleurine stands 46 cm tall with a 23 cm wide pedestal base. That's a touch shorter than a standard table lamp, with real presence on a console or sideboard. The larger Cécile is 48 cm tall and 26 cm wide, designed to layer just behind.
Will each piece look exactly like the photos?
Fleurine is hand-finished, so slight variation in patina, brushwork, and mesh tone is part of the character of every piece. Screens also display colour differently, so the in-person finish may read a touch lighter or warmer than the listing images.
Would Fleurine work as a gift?
Yes. She's a considered piece at the $70 mark, well boxed, and reads as elegant rather than fussy. Good for housewarmings, anniversaries, and anyone building a French country home.
Because Fleurine is hand-finished, slight variations in patina, texture, and grain are natural and add to the unique character of each piece. Colour may also vary slightly between screens, all photography is taken in natural light.
