A carved scroll-and-rosette corbel topped with a warm timber shelf, the kind of wall piece that gives a small object a proper stage.
Marguerite is a wall-mounted corbel shelf with a carved magnesium oxide composite body and a solid fir wood top. The corbel tapers in a classic French Provincial silhouette, with central rosette flanked by curling acanthus scrolls and finished in a soft distressed whitewash that wears back to a sandy undertone along the high points. The fir wood top is left in a warm natural finish for contrast against the white carving.
At 29 cm tall and 27.5 cm wide, Marguerite has enough presence to anchor a section of wall on its own, but the top platform is sized to hold a small vase, a candle, a framed photo, or a piece from our cherub collection. She works as a single architectural accent above a console, beside a doorway, or flanking a mirror or piece of art.

How to style it
Marguerite gives you a small wall stage. A few ideas:
- Mount her above a console or sideboard with a small vase of dried stems or a single pillar candle on top
- Pair two together to flank a framed mirror or piece of artwork for a symmetrical architectural moment
- Display a small cherub from our sculpture collection on top for a layered French country vignette
- Use her in a hallway, entryway, or beside a doorway to anchor a small area of wall that would otherwise sit empty
Stylist's Tip Mount Marguerite at eye-level or slightly above, so the top shelf sits at a height where the object on it reads as displayed rather than perched. A pair looks best with around 60 to 80 cm between them, flanking a central piece.
Care & Keeping
Dust gently with a soft dry cloth or a soft-bristle brush for the carved scrollwork. The magnesium oxide body is porous, so avoid wet cleaning, harsh chemicals, and prolonged damp. The fir wood top can be wiped with a barely damp cloth and dried immediately. Indoor use only.

Does it come with wall fixings?
No, wall fixings are not supplied. Marguerite has a mounting point on the back of the corbel and needs a single appropriate wall fixing for your wall type (masonry, plasterboard with stud, etc). For plasterboard without a stud behind it, use a hollow wall anchor rated for at least 5 kg.
How much weight can the top hold?
The top shelf comfortably holds objects up to around 2 kg — small vases, candles, framed photos, sculptures, or styled clusters of dried stems. Avoid loading the top with heavier objects, as the load also transfers to the wall fixing.
Is the corbel and top shelf one piece or two?
Marguerite arrives as a single integrated piece. The fir wood top and the carved MGO corbel are joined as one, so there's no assembly required.
Can I buy a pair?
Yes. This listing is for one corbel shelf. To pair, simply add two to your cart. The two pieces are cast from the same mould so they're identical rather than mirrored, which suits a symmetrical flanking display.
What style of decor does she suit?
French Provincial, French country, English country, traditional and architectural interiors. The carved scroll detail also lends well to a more eclectic modern-vintage space where a single ornate accent is the focal point.
Will every piece look exactly like the photos?
Marguerite is hand-finished, so the chip pattern, paint distribution, and timber grain vary slightly from piece to piece. That's part of the appeal and the reason she reads as aged architectural salvage rather than mass-produced.
